So I’ve created a festival…

I’LL DO YOU is taking place on Saturday 15th December from 3pm to 11pm on the rooftop garden terrace at 107 Redfern.

A quirky little idea soon turned into reality when I posted about it on my facebook page and got a bunch of comments, likes and lols from fellow musos. It got me thinking.

The name lends itself to the ethos I aim to live by and that is all about connection in Sydney’s bustling creative community,  and coming together to celebrate all art forms. It’s about musos championing each other and emerging from the silos they sometimes get stuck creating in. It’s about the realisation that we don’t need money or fame to get us where we need to go; we need each other.

I’LL DO YOU creates a space where some of our favourite artists at FOR FOLK SAKE  get to do themselves and each other in a loving, supportive environment.

Translation: each act will cover a song from another artist on the bill during their set. Check out some of the artists on our Spotify playlist. We’re adding more each week as we get closer to the event and drop their names on all our social platforms.

Oh and blog-lovers,  did I not tell you about FOR FOLK SAKE? It’s a monthly music night held at the same venue, I’ve been running it for over six months now. It is majestic.

I am so excited, and beyond honoured to be hosting this event which will feature some of Sydney’s most respected live acts and original songsmiths. Declan Kelly, E for Echo, Jack R Reilly, Emad Younan, Hannah Matysek, Andy Nelson, and more….these are talented performers and engaging artists who are going to be sharing something really special with you if you can make it.

Limited tickets to this non-profit festival are available to purchase through Humanitix who are donating all booking fees to Yalari to support education programs for young indigenous Australians.

I hope to see you there.

Much love,

Cj xo
